The biggest and most exciting feature we came across during our Wild Portals Megaways™ slot review is definitely the one that lends its name to the game.
The Wild Portal is basically a 2×2 Wild symbol that can appear on any spin. Yet this Wild doesn’t just substitute any other paying symbols in a winning combination (except the Scatter)…
Instead, once any wins are paid, the Wild Portal opens up to reveal one of the card suit symbols (9, 10, J, Q, K, or A), and any such symbols on the grid will be sucked into the portal, increasing the multiplier as it does so.
What’s even better is that the Cascading Reels feature is available during the Wild Portals feature, so any spaces left blank will be replaced by new symbols. This will keep going until no further corresponding symbols are left on the grid.
Oh, and just in case you were wondering, the cascading reels are not available during the base game, they are only available when the Wild Portal is activated.

The Wild Portals Megaways™ theme is hard to define, but we’d say between the portals and the glowing gems, the game feels like a futuristic version of Starburst Megaways™.
Having said that, there isn’t much in terms of context: the techno music in the background, which is surprisingly enjoyable even after a while, and the lights that seem to be coming out of a feature in the ceiling don’t provide much fodder for this.
On a positive note, although there is no storyline, the game itself is really well created, with beautiful, seamless graphics, and an easy-to-use controls panel. Overall, you should have no problem playing this game.
Paytable and Special Symbols
Unlike most new Megaways™, this game’s symbols are easy to wrap your head around.
The lowest-paying symbols here are, as always, the card suit ones, namely the 9, 10, J, Q, K and A. You’ll need to line at least three of these starting from the leftmost reel to be awarded a win. Three 9s pay just 0.1x your stake, while six Aces pay 0.5x – so not much at all. Of course, their value can easily increase once the Wild Portal is activated.
The gems, however, pay higher amounts: six green or blue gems pay 0.6x; six red pay 1x; and six purple pay 10x.
